Due to insufficient volunteers we are not open on Wednesdays and Saturdays but hopefully that will change in the near future.

What do we do?

AT R&R we accept furniture, clothing, essential household  items and toys to pass on to those who cannot afford them. Local residents of  Liskeard and surrounding villages have been extremely generous and many people  have received what they needed. A most recent story is that of a young mother  (baby only nine weeks old) had to flee her home and start up closer to her
family. Having nothing in tow, she arrived on their doorstep and was referred to R&R. No sooner had she chosen her items for her new flat which included furniture, cutlery, crockery, tv, microwave etc, when the next lady who walked in. This lady had sadly lost her mum and was looking to donate all the furniture to R&R.

As the Unit empties out, it is refilled. As one need is met, another comes through the door. It is an honour to  serve the local community. Many people who have been helped have in turn offered their services as volunteers. We are now open everyday from 10am to 1pm. Monday to Friday.

There are  thousands of people suffering in our communities who need our help, support and  encouragement, especially in the current economic climate. People are having difficulty coping with finances let alone dealing with past hurts and betrayals.  Bethel Ministries not only offer them the spiritual and emotional support they need, but we also give them help on a practical level. I have also enclosed a list of testimonies of people who have benefited from our work. As a result of the work here, we are receiving referrals from  Social Services (Child Services, Cornwall Council), Cornwall Housing as well as Devon and Cornwall Housing. We are also a collection point for Foodbank. Following  training with Christians Against Poverty, on the 8 June 2013, we will also be  qualified to assist people with debt counselling and advice.

Caring for the community has been just that: CARE. Recycling has been the vehicle that R&R has driven to bring people in from the community to share their personal possessions and their problems as well as keep the landfills empty. The Unit is never empty and never overloaded, because as one lot leaves, another comes in.

Open Monday to SATURDAY 10am to 1pm
